Watch ‘The Hateful Eight’ Trailer: QT says we can now…

A trailer that has been viewed nearly 6 million times in the 24 hours since its release doesn’t need much of an introduction. And neither does the man responsible for the film it depicts.

Quentin Tarantino’s 8th feature, The Hateful Eight, has been a long running labour of love and law suits that nearly never made it to the big screen (70mm Panavision, to be exact). The director threatened to sue Gawker after the film’s script was leaked in early 2014 and cast doubt over the project’s completion after throwing his toys out the box in spectacular fashion. Being a fly-on-the-wall in ol’ QT’s household when the sh*t hit the fan would have been quite something to behold…

In any case, the two minutes and twenty three seconds we do have is a veritable who’s who of ghosts of Tarantinos past set in a stunning winter snowscape: Samuel L. Jackson, in Union uniform and wide-brimmed hat, hitches a ride with Kurt “The Hangman” Russell to a cabin in the woods with black-eyed captive Jennifer Jason Leigh literally in tow.

Oh look! There’s Tim Roth, there’s Michael Madsen… The old band is back together in a country retreat and Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins and Demian Bichir are there for the party too. Russell fears one of the gang is duplicitous, they all have guns and itchy trigger fingers – you know the rest.

Nothing quite says Christmas like bucket loads of profanity and gratuitous violence but who knows maybe Channing Tatum – rumoured to be involved – might take his top off and dance a bit to lighten the mood? We’ll have to wait till December to see the film in all it’s blood-splattered and foul-mouthed splendour but in the meantime watch this to see what all the fuss is about!
